Akm Alam

Lieutenant Akm Alam (Prince) was born in Bangladesh and immigrated to the United States in January of 2000. He began his career with the New York City Police Department as a Police Officer, assigned to the 32nd Precinct in December of 2006. He was promoted to Sergeant in May of 2012 and to Lieutenant in 2017. Lieutenant Akm Alam is currently assigned to the 71st Precinct as a Platoon Commander. He is a co-founder of Bangladeshi American Police Association. Lieutenant Alam likes to engage with youths and communities involving various programs. He inspired and motivated many Bangladeshi-Americans to join Law Enforcement Agencies. Lieutenant Alam holds a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College. He also earned a Bachelor and a Master degree in Law from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. Lieutenant Alam is married to his wife Sharmi with two children Zuehb and Zain.
